Florida is well known as "The Bass Fishing
Capital of the World" with
Lake
Okeechobee leading the way as one of the
most well known lakes in the state of Florida. The most often overlooked part
of the state is beautiful Orlando. When people hear "Orlando Vacation" they
think mostly of Disney, Sea World and Universal Studios, but what a lot of
people don’t realize is the great bass fishing the area has, and just
how close to all major theme parks the great fisheries are. The great
Kissimmee Chain of lakes. Lake Kissimmee, Lake Toho, Lake Cypress, and Lake Hatchineha. These lakes are world famous and have consistently produced big
trophy bass year round. All of these lakes
have long been known as some of Florida's best trophy bass fisheries. But
in January of 2001 Lake Toho was actually put on the Map. During the B.A.S.S.
Top 150 tournament held at Lake Toho, Team Skeeter Dean Rojas broke
the trail's all time, one day record, with a five fish limit of
45 pounds 2 ounces. And, he broke the four day catch record with 20 bass
weighing 108 pounds 12 ounces. After the tournament Rojas commented that,
"I can't believe it. I could have never dreamed that I would catch
108 pounds in a tournament. You can talk about California having all
the big fish, but they don't have anything to compare to this. You guys
have the big ones here." His record included fish weighing 10.13,
10.0, 9.0, 8.2 and 7.3 pounds.
The 2006
BASSMaster Classic was held in central Florida and won by
Luke Clausen, a
27-year old professional from Spokane Valley, Wash., jumped to the lead with a
Bassmaster Classic one-day catch record of 29 pounds, six ounces. He staked
himself to nearly a five-pound lead on Day Two and facing hellish weather
conditions Sunday on Lake Kissimmee, held off the field with a five-fish limit
that weighed 11-13.
Clausen's
consistent performance resulted in a record three-day total of 56pounds, two
ounces all while fishing on Lake Kissimmee, and earned him victory in the 36th
annual Classic. He also pocketed the $500,000 first prize that accompanies the
win.
Central Florida also has the
Butler Chain of Lakes, located in and around the town Orlando Florida.
They are just minutes away from all
3 major theme parks, and offer some excellent bass fishing on what we believe
to be some of Florida’s
most pristine waters. Butler Chain is referred to as more of a chain of lakes, with its clean,
clear waters and deep holes. Depths ranging up to almost
40 feet deep, this chain offers some great bass fishing action using a wide
variety of techniques from your typical worm fishing to jigging spoons, which
makes it a very popular chain for the fishermen coming down from the north
for a break from the cold and snow.
The
Conway Chain is yet another great bass
fishery, with that "Old Florida" look to it. With the tanic waters from the
cypress trees that ring these great lakes and the river that takes you to the
many lakes on this chain, it gives you the feel of what life was like before big
development hit the state. This great Central Florida bass fishing chain holds some very good bass
action, and is well known to take 15 to 25 pounds to win a one day tournament
with several 10 pound plus bass being caught yearly here, and only 30 minutes
from the major theme parks.
All of the Central Florida
body's of water are good artificial lakes and even better shiner fishing lakes. So, we cover the entire
central Florida
area which includes, Lake Toho,
Lake Kissimmee,
Lake Okeechobee, Walk in Water,
Stick Marsh and others when it comes to fishing
Central Florida, no one does like US. We have the credentials
and creditability to
back it up. Don't be fooled by some imposture with a saltwater boat, claiming to
be a bass fishermen. You know the difference, don't be sold short!.
